Understanding these factors and making appropriate changes can improve male fertility and increase the chances of conception.

Lifestyle Changes for Improved Sperm Health

Maintain a Healthy Weight

Maintaining a healthy weight is crucial for optimal sperm production. Obesity has been linked to lower sperm count and reduced sperm motility. Excess fat tissue can convert testosterone into estrogen, leading to hormonal imbalances that negatively affect sperm production. Additionally, overweight and obese men are more likely to experience erectile dysfunction, further complicating fertility efforts.

Achieving a healthy weight through a balanced diet and regular exercise can improve overall health and boost sperm production. Men should aim for a body mass index (BMI) within the normal range to optimize their reproductive health.
